ABOUT BLUE CLIFF ZEN CENTER | ABOUT MATT SHINKAI KANE

photo of Matt Shinkai Kane, Zen meditation and Zen yoga teacher of Blue Cliff Zen Center in Eugene, Oregon

Blue Cliff Zen Center is a non-profit organization started by Matt Shinkai Kane and other Zen meditators in Eugene, Oregon in 2014 at the request of Shinzan Miyamae Roshi of Gyokuryuji Temple (Gifu, Japan). We are a primarily lay-based Rinzai Zen group dedicated to the cultivation of physical and mental well-being and genuine insight (Jpn. kensho, satori). We hold a weekly meditation group, Zen yoga classes, and a wide array of mindfulness courses, workshops, retreats, and ceremonies throughout the year.

Shinkai studied Zen in Japan for over seven years and is certified as a senior Zen teacher in the Hakuin-Inzan line of the Rinzai tradition. Learn more >>
