Zen Meditation Group
You are welcome to attend in-person or via Zoom.
Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday mornings (from 7 – 8am)
Friday evenings (from 7 – 8pm) ZOOM ONLY
Sunday evenings (from 4:30 – 6pm)
Our Zen meditation group meets at Everyday People Yoga. Beginners and seasoned meditators are warmly invited to attend. If you are new please try to come 10-15 minutes early. Zen is strongly associated with group practice. Having the opportunity to practice with others on the same path is tremendously beneficial.
Sunday evening is our main weekly meeting and there is time for guidance for beginners and some teaching. We begin with a short dharma talk followed by zazen (seated meditation) with an opportunity for sanzen (a time to discuss your practice individually) until 6pm, followed by an optional tea time. Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday sessions are comprised of two 25-minute periods of zazen with a walking meditation in between.
Friday Evening Meditation- ZOOM ONLY (7– 8pm) At this session we introduce the various meditation practices, energy exercises, and self-healing practices of our tradition. We typically do two periods of practice with some walking meditation in between. Good for beginners! Please email firstname.lastname@example.org for the Zoom link.
